Project Summary
Project Location
The project site is situated on the north side of American River Drive, the west side of Jacob Lane, and the east side of Piccadilly Circle on the Jesuit High School Campus, in the Carmichael/Old Foothill Farms community of unincorporated Sacramento County. Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) is 289-0210-045.
Proposed Project
Jesuit High School is requesting to install four (4) permanent stadium light poles at the Marauder Stadium. Two (2) of the light poles, located on the north side of the stadium, would be 100-feet high. The other two (2) light poles, located on the south side of the stadium, would be 90-feet high. The proposed light poles will have LED lights affixed to the top, and will be located approximately at the 10-yard lines of the football field. The request also includes additional code-compliant lighting for the bleachers and pedestrian pathways of the stadium.
Entitlement Requested
The request includes a Use Permit Amendment to PLNP2018-00190 to allow stadium lighting on the Jesuit High School athletic field in the Residential 4 (RD-4) zoning district and a Design Review to determine substantial compliance with the Sacramento County Countywide Design Guidelines.

Final EIR
A Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) has been prepared by the County of Sacramento pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. The FEIR was published on February 29, 2024 and associated files are available below.
Draft EIR
A Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) has been prepared by the County of Sacramento pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. The review period for the DEIR began September 15, 2023 and ended on October 30, 2023.
Final Hearing Body
The final hearing body for this request is the Planning Commission. The Board of Supervisors shall hear all appeals from the actions of the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission met on March 11, 2024 and voted (5 Yes – 0 No) to approve the proposed project with an amendment to Condition 10, removing the word evening; deletion of Condition 12; and an amendment to Condition 19, adding the intersection of Tennyson Way and Marlborough Way to the list of streets that will be posted with “no event parking” signs during events. Mailed notices were sent 10 days prior to the Planning Commission hearing to property owners, tenants, and identified interested persons within 1,500 feet of the project site.

- Temporary Use Permit (PLNP2023-00190)
A Temporary Use Permit was issued to Jesuit High School to utilize temporary lighting for two football games scheduled August 25, 2023, and September 1, 2023 between the hours of 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The Temporary Use Permit was issued as part of the pending entitlement request (PLNP2021-00262) to install permanent lighting at the football stadium to test the proposed Protocol for Night Events provided by the applicant. Jesuit High School conducted traffic counts and monitored noise levels during the two football games. This information was collected to include in the final package to the Planning Commission.
